I’m a technology executive and co-founder of Knock.com, a fast-growing fintech company that revolutionizes how people buy and sell homes.

Over the last few decades, I've built numerous startups from the ground up  and scaled to 400+ people. I've held positions ranging from a solo engineer, tech lead, and chief architect to executive/CTO level. I studied computer science at Stanford University.

My last few ventures:

  1. Co-founder/Chief Labs Officer/Chief Architect @Knock.com — pre-IPO, $2B valuation, raised ~$650m
  2. Co-founder/CTO @Chirpme — 500 Startups Incubator (2nd batch), acquired by Match Group
  3. Founding Lead Engineer @SportsYapper — raised ~$12m, #1 on iOS sports app in the UK
  4. Fractional CTO/Board Advisor @TapDating (consumer-tech)

I love crafting the right mix of — people, culture, and modular, extensible technology to drive execution with visibility and confidence.

I'm still hands-on; my superpower is seeing through the forest and problem-solving. I'm highly technical, encompassing a broad spectrum of technologies and disciplines (both wide and deep):

  1. Frontend experiences (web & mobile)
  2. Product and platform backend services (Node.js/TypeScript, Golang, Python)
  3. Databases including SQL (MySQL, Postgres), NoSQL (ElasticSearch, MongoDB), vector, in-memory, and graph (Neon4j)
  4. Idempotent distributed architecture and transaction orchestration (message queues, Pub/Sub, Kafka, etc.)
  5. Data engineering, pipelines and warehouses (DAG pipelines, Databricks, Spark, Snowflake/ClickHouse/DuckDB, Dbt, lakehouse architectures, etc.)
  6. Machine learning engineering lifecycle (research, training, evaluation/validation, inference/deployment). Algorithms include — regression, classification, clustering, collaborative filtering, gradient boosting, CNN, deep learning, transformers, and Gen AI (LLMs, VLM)
  7. Cloud infrastructure and security (AWS, containers, ECS/Kubernetes, VPC/networking, service mesh architectures). AuthN (OAuth2, OpenID), authZ (Zanzibar), and Zero Trust security architectures
